just started watching, the multiplication symbol when being X it looks LITERALLY like a variable x and the dot you can just make the dot higher because the decimal point is just on the floor its actually way more distinct than you might think (and no lifting up the x doesn’t work that well even then a dot is just way faster to write and it matches with multiplication being a minimalistic symbol [you don’t even put the symbol if there are brackets involved])
absolutely repulsive rationale behind the dot for multiplication, i have never witnessed another human being write a decimal number by putting the dot that high up

Your list is absolutely trash
The division symbol sucks. It’s the cause of the ambiguity of the infamous 1 or 16 problem. There’s a reason why it’s not used in mathematics past 4th grade and not recommended by the ISO 80000 standard for mathematical notation for denoting division.
Objectively right ranking of symbols:
X for multiplication only when constants; 2×4 but not 2xX
Weird dot (never)- absolutely garbage with no value
()- good when you substitute a number for x, good for factoring and distributing
Nothing – only for variables, doesn’t make any sense why but it saves time (throughout my entire life it has saved 15 sec) so ez S tier.
The equal sign is two parellel lines that are equal in length, it was invented because of lazy writing, deserves S tier
I would like maths nerds taking this out of the programmers’ book. Basic arithmetic using +, * or whatever and everything else is just a function. ceiling(absolute(integral(-x, 0, 3))). It’s perfectly clear what is what and what’s the order. The lisp way is also fine

No one puts the decimal point in the middle
I demand! that if we have symbol delta for linear change (state1 – state0), we use a diamond with a horizontal line from end to end to represent factor change (state1/state0)!
