I think one of the biggest gains is getting a bike fit. Because it can increase power and comfort which you will notice more affects for price per a watt
My rule of thumb for gains is if my wife will notice the change on her bike it is not marginal. For that quality tires and a clean bike are the 2 things my wife absolutely notices on her bike. She also appreciates her waxed chain. Not for speed but just because she doesn’t have to worry about her chain making her dirty. Everything else is just nice fancy bling.
Another 2 marginal gains:
– Change from Butyl tubes to latex/TPU or tubeless…
– Ride in such weather conditions: dry and windless 😉
As we were taught in scouts, “Spanky (the name of the shovel) no touch poopy”. Use the shovel to dig the hole first, then use it to move dirt back to the hole.
Those nylon ones ain’t exactly heavy, though.
It’s always great to have Josh on the show ☺
YouTube needs to get their shit together and deal with this bot-comment—at this point—pandemic. This is absurd.
Thanks for the super nice on my Crux. Just a bonus piece on the rear light. It runs in daytime flash and goes solid when I brake. My riding buddies love it as I lead on descents every time we ride.
Gubbins of the week – The GCN content we all want!
“Some marginal gains are more marginal.”
How very Orwellian of you.
“Kreissäge” is pronounced as ‘krice-zay-guh and means circular saw.
Nice for the marginal gains, but bring it down to our level of 30 to 35 Km/h instead of 45 to 50 Km/h. please.
Not having socks up to my knees!!! Old school.
I’d like to see one of the GCN guys go out in a regular kit and then the aero helmet, skin suit and socks and maintain 35 kph for a specific distance and see what the actual difference would be in wattage
21:51 Pronounciation of Kreissäge: “Kreis” like “Christ” without the “t” and “säge” are two syllables, “sä” and “ge”. “Sä” is pronounced like the first part of “second” but holding a long vocal like “seeecond” and “ge” is like the first syllable of “ghurkin” without the “r” and don’t go too much into the “u” sound. All in all: Chris-see-ghe
A nice and cheap upgrade for anyone rocking 105 or lower specs are Ultegra standard jockey wheels. They actually have proper bearings and it’s just a few bucks.
