  1. Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die! is my 2nd favorite Panic! At The Disco album. And today I was in the mood not just to include bonus tracks like Can’t Fight Against the Youth and All the Boys, but every single song related to this era.
Yes, most of them were never officially released, and in my rankings I don’t always count even deluxe tracks – but this album is a clear exception. It’s one of my favorite albums of all time.

Too Weird to Live is completely soaked in the atmosphere of Las Vegas, the city where Brendon Urie grew up. Casinos, neon lights, nightlife, vices, loneliness, and hedonism – all of this is present both in the lyrics and the sound.

This era also marked the moment when Dallon Weekes became a permanent member of the band, and his influence on the album is undeniable. I absolutely loved the Brendon-Dallon combination, and man, I actually loved it more than a pre-split Panic with Ryan and Jon. It’s sad how everything eventually led to Dallon leaving the band… or maybe not. After all, I genuinely love iDKHOW. But that’s a whole different topic.
All I’ll say is that Dallon deserved far more creative freedom – he truly earned it and remains a criminally underrated vocalist and songwriter.

I love almost every song on this album, with the exception of Girl That You Love, which feels a bit bland to me, and The End of All Things, which I think might have worked better without that heavy vocal filter.

The deep cuts here are absolutely fantastic. Casual Affair → Far Too Young to Die → Collar Full is easily one of my favorite 3-track runs on any album.

As for favorites, Little Secret and One This Time quietly made their way into my top 3. You might recognize the latter from the demo that was once accidentally recorded on the DoaB tour – Stuck in the Middle – yes, it’s that song.
All these unreleased tracks surfaced in 2023, not just from this era but from others as well, and honestly… they hit especially hard, considering that was the same year Brendon announced the breakup of Panic! At The Disco.

This Is Gospel was one of the very first P!ATD songs I ever heard, and to this day it holds a special place in my heart. The music video has always been absolutely heartbreaking to me.

Overall, TWTLTRTD became a bridge between Panic! as a band and Brendon as a solo project. Even though Death of a Bachelor is my favorite album, I still mourn the fact that Panic! At The Disco eventually stopped being a “band” in the true sense.
Still, Too Weird to Live remains deeply underrated to this day.

But what do YOU think about this album?
