   The biggest “disappointment” was a last minute change of plans that turned a week long zoo trip down to a weekend trip with one zoo. Now, the Little Rock Zoo was one of the weird delights this year, where I had no expectations to go off of and had a variety of interesting experiences. Several areas have bones of older exhibits brought up to more modern standards, giving a weird mish-mash vibe of old school meets new school. The elephant habitat was a bit to be desired, but the ape habitats had impressive climbing frames on an elevated walkway outdoors through what felt almost like old bear pits? Plenty of space and such but just so not what I’m used to seeing it was memorable. Fantastic indoor buildings, The Reptile House was under renovations to expand for their growing Komodo Dragon and they apparently started a new 12 million dollar renovation about a month after I visited, so I think that’s one to keep an eye on in the future.
