   This was so great …thank you!! I love your channel and your take on cruising. We are taking the QM2 next May from New York to Southampton (a bucket list cruise for me), staying in the UK for a week with friends (I am British, my husband is American) and then we are getting on the HAL Nieuw Statendam for a 28 night cruise from Dover thru the Norwegian Fjords, Arctic Circle and then to Shetland and onto the Baltic capitals. I cannot wait to go on both of these cruise lines. We have cruised Royal when our kids were younger and are on RC Star of the Seas this October just for fun…but are looking forward to the more traditional side of cruising now we are older. I look forward to more of your comparison videos!!

    Thank you once again for another video which would easily fulfil the BBC’s objective to inform, educate and entertain. A couple of areas you may have dwelt on however are the enrichment programmes as I believe this is one of the key attractions of both cruise lines. IMO Cunard have the edge here with many excellent guest speakers and port talks. Also when mentioning cost and in particular the good deals available on Cunard it does not take into consideration that HAL offers a very competitive “Have it all” package which is a benefit over Cunard especially if you like a drink. As you have pointed out though these cruise lines are closely matched and it is perhaps down to personal preference and itinerary.

    I had those yummy escargot on Holland America tonight! Food has been exquisite! Our last time on QM2 the food was salty and almost inedible! Also, not as many choices on QM2 as on HAL.
